Zorro to Possibly Come to Wii

I don’t really find this announcement all that surprising, given the games that already exist for the Wii. It seems the developers are rather enjoying having gamers use the WiiMote as a sword, a la RedSteel, and Twilight Princess, and Pronto Games is apparently no different.

There is an article over at Zorro.com (I wasn’t aware that there was a Zorro-specific website!) that gives some bare details about the game. The Destiny of Zorro will, of course, be set in the existing Zorro universe while putting up an entirely new storyline that is supposed to get into more character development. The game is being advertised as exclusive for the Wii and is supposed to be ready for release in Q4 of this year, probably in time for next Christmas.

The folks over at Pronto games are saying:

Gameplay is showcased first. The visuals are high quality, as are the audio and storyline. The game is easy to understand, with challenges for casual gamers but with an interest level that will attract hard core gamers, too.

We’ll have to see how that actually pans out, and I have visions of gamers drawing “Z’s” in the air all over the place - I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not!

Cassidy, sometimes I could kiss you.

I just hope you fight with your sword, and don’t have to go “Z POWER!” or something lame and slash a Zed.

    Yeah. Zed.

Unfortunately, some of the information I read on the game is going to have you use the WiiMote to do just that… slash a Zed through the air… hopefully the developers are also going to back it up with some solid swordplay action as well!
