IGN has posted a new interview with game producer Toshihiro Nagoshi-san who is working on Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. AiAi and friends will make their first appearance on the Wii in a Wii exclusive title that aims to fully exploit the Wii’s unique controller and utilize it to its fullest extent. In the game, you’ll be able to do all sorts of things with the controller that wouldn’t be possible on other consoles like making your character jump up by flicking the controller upwards.
You can fully enjoy the game, maximizing all the functions of Revolution’s controller. Some games will require you to twirl the controller, others will have you flicking the controller, while others will feel like using the Revolution controller like a joystick.
Toshihiro mentioned that Banana Blitz would not feature any online play. Although disappointing, I feel that it’s not that much of a let down. The Super Monkey Ball series has always been more of a party game that is meant to played with your friends and family in the same room together.
