Wii trademarked

Wii trademarkMany claimed that Nintendo was pulling a publicity stunt when they announced the renaming of the Revolution. The name “Wii” sounds ridiculous and many game developers agree. One of the main arguments was the fact that “Wii” still hadn’t been trademarked despite the fact that many Nintendo executives gave interviews and confirmed the rebranding.

Today, a trademark for Wii was found on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s website. The trademark was filed on April 27th, the day that the name change was anounced, but had a priority date of November 11th of last year. What does this mean? It means that Nintendo had already settled on the new name since at leat November of last year.

I wonder why now to tell everyone when it was planed and settled on November?

The Nintendo Wii looks and sounds pretty good, I wonder how it will do. It is different to the Playstation and Xbox consoles coming out

They probably have bunches of them stocked away in some warehouse somewhere but they don’t want people knowing about it!!!

Ethans probally right, they probally had a bunch of possibilities pre-trademarked (or whatever priority dated is) in november, and just ‘activated’ it when it was officially decided/announced.
