Ubisoft announces Red Steel

Ubisoft has officially announced that it is developing a Wii exclusive first-person action game titled Red Steel. Red Steel will feature a combination of swordplay and gunslinging. As with most announced Wii games, Red Steel aims to fully utilize the Wii’s unique motion sensing capabilities. One can only speculate how much fun wielding the controller like a sword will be.
Red Steel will be set in contemporary Japan where “players will master both the ancient art of the katana and the sophisticated technology of modern firearms taking advantage of the emotion and immersive gameplay possible only with the Revolution’s remarkable controller.”
Ubisoft also stated that it is working to make Red Steel part of the Wii’s launch lineup. Even more exciting, Ubisoft plans to make Red Steel on par with its flagship games such as Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia. Having played both Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia and enjoying them both immensely, I can’t wait to see what new and innovative gameplay Red Steel has to offer. If you can’t wait till the Wii’s launch, you can always catch a glimpse of it at this Years Electronic Entertainment Expo where Red Steel will make its world wide debut.
