I got an original DS when they first came out. they work exactly the same as the new DS Lites, personally i like the old ones better. DS Lites llok to square. i have had mine for 3 tears now, and it still works Great!

I am on my second DS Lite in less than a year and already it's top screen is not working. The Lites are very cheaply constructed and the hinge cracks easily. This time my son can still play the bottom screen, the first time it wouldn't play at all. If he didn't have so many DS games I'd be shopping for a different unit, but am considering buying an original, as I'm not wasting anymore money on the Lite!

I don't think there's anything wrong with them continuing to sell the original DS. I really don't like the DS Lite very much, considering that it's much more expensive and not as sturdy as the original. Does anyone know where I could buy the original one?

Does anyone know of any online sites that sell the original DS?

I have a thing for buying the original versions of items in general.

Thanks!

Yup.

Currently the only people I have noticed purchasing the older machine are the ones who are buying it purely because it's pink, and comes bundeled with Nintendogs

As soon as Nintendo release a Nintendogs bundel with the newly announced Pink Ds Lite, then the original will be made obsolete...

wtf is nintendo doing? why continue to manufacture the old ds? they will soon have pink ( http://ds.ign.com/articles/715/715350p1.html ) in japan and they already have 2 shades of blue in japan; why can't they just make every color available everywhere insted of making certain colors available in certain places??? they wont make very much money off the old ds

Hi mate!

I really don't see the point in this. If somene wants to buy a DS they would naturally go for the Lite. People would buy the new technology instead of the old.
