My guess would be a region for Asia/Pac, a region for Americas and a region for EU. There are probably more. There are 'mod chips' out there for $100 AU but I've not gone that route. It's just meant I haven't bought many games. The same game in AU can cost up to 3x what it costs in the USA. That just isn't fair. This decision by Nintendo and/or their gaming companies has cost them about 300-400 dollars from this user. I am not sure but I would guess that you cannot play UK games on my AU WII. I was a big fan on the wii until i found that two titles I bought in the US will not work in Australia. I will not be spending too much on games for the wii in the future. The titles were 'cars' and 'blazing angels'. Unlike other consoles, these titles do not work on my au wii. I was an advocate of the wii and told lots of people to buy them. Now I am not.
