According to respected media publication New Media Age Magazine; Nintendo are planning an extensive web based assault to help promote the company’s forthcoming Wii console which is due for release later this year.

Nintendo have apparently allocated a rather significant portion of their £10 million marketing budget in a bid to help raise its brand awareness online using the new slogan “Wii Move You”.

In regards to its new online endeavor Nintendo stated “We’re just in the final stages of putting our media plan together for Wii, but in terms of online our spend is way more than anything we’ve done before.”

This online campaign is expected to penetrate popular social networking communities in a bid to win over a large percentage of the lucrative teenage market with the revolutionary video games console.
