Metal Slug coming to Wii

IGN reports that SNK plans to release a Metal Slug compilation titled Metal Slug Anthology. Metal Slug Anthology will feature many of the classics including Metal Slug 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and X. IGN states that the inclusion of Metal Slug 6 is a strong possibility but it has not been confirmed yet.
Metal Slug is one of of those old school games that never gets old. Originally released on the now defunct Neo-Geo, Metal Slug was loved by many for its fluid animations, beautiful hand drawn art, and sense of humour. All the Metal Slug games are 2d side-scrolling shooters where you must get to the end of the level while shooting anything that might or might not get in your way. I imagine most people were skeptical of Metal Slug when they first saw it as I was but after playing it on the GameCube, I have to say that it is quite addicting. Unlike most side-scrollers, much of the terrain in the game is destructible and contains hidden bonuses when destroyed.
Of coarse, Metal Slug Anthology won’t be without its own special features. SNK revealed that it would update the games controls to take advantage of the Wii’s unique motion sensing controller. Although no specifics were mentioned, SNK also said “This will be a full arcade collection including many additional surprises.”

Oh my god, now I wan’t a Wii even more.
