There are few gaming titles that can be considered a thoroughly relaxing experience, though the peaceful Harvest Moon series has always been one of them.
The rather popular farming simulator has been featured in this week’s edition of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, and all said and done is looking rather promising. Though not straying to far from the series original roots, the Wii version is looking to fit rather snugly in with previous additions of the series, but of course this title has one huge feature that’s lacking from previous games - the Wii’mote’.
The scans that Famitsu provided help show us exactly how Natsume plan to utilize the innovative Wii controller, with it taking the form of a scythe and a watering-can amongst other things. To do other simple tasks such as digging, all you will need do is raise the Wii’mote’ into the air as if it were a pick-axe and bring it down, which will inevitably cause you to dig a small hole into the earth with which to place crops.
As you can imagine, plenty of other activities have been planned for the game to help create an experience like no other. Things you are likely to come across in the game are: fishing, crop sowing, and milking, all of which help cultivate and bringing income into your little farm. With previous iterations of the series gaining more and more fans the world over, could this finally be set to become the first title to break into the mainstream in the same way as Nintendo’s Animal Crossing achieved on the Nintendo Ds?

Heh, I’ve never really been into the Harvest Moon games, but I will for sure be checking this one out.

I enjoyed Animal Crossing so I figure I may as well give this a go once it’s released.

harvest moon isnt nearly as good as animal crossing
it takes more work and dedication

I have to agree with NanaBear. Harvest Moon is WAY better than Animal Crossing and you do get to do way more things. Such as in Animal Crossing, you can’t get married or have kids and in Harvest Moon you can! I hate, how in Animal Crossing everyone in the town are animals, but you can the other players are people! It is so stupid! Plus in Harvest Moon, it is soo much more realistic, because everyone in the town is a human except for the odd fairy/sprite. Another thing is in Harvest Moon you can actaully go to bed and wake up in the morning, but with Animal Crossing it’s the real time so you have to wait all night to be able to talk to people again and the wait is so boring.
Hey everyone! The wii has been really fun for me. Harvest Moon is really fun, but I’ll always have Animal Crossing DS my all-time favourite. There might be better things in Harvest Moon as some people say, but I don’t really give. Hopefully everyone will enjoy the games they buy in the future. (I don’t acctually play video games that much anyway) lol

i love harvest moon and i am like dying for the wii version i dont know how you can like the one for the SNES it was so boxy and old and the gamecube one gets boring i usually sleep through the year and see cut scenes after the 4th year!

OMG OMG OMFG. When I first saw the harvest moon wii, I thought the people looked wierd. But since two days ago I have been obsesed! It is so cool how you can adopt animals you find. I am getting it for my birthday witch is Aug 20, so I must wait six days!!!!!!!!!!!!
